Day 5 in the Holy Land with Deacon Larry--another full and beautiful day in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. We started at the Garden Tomb a recent find believed to be the the tomb of Joseph of Aramethea where Jesus was buried after the crucifixion. We then headed to the hill country of Judea to the site of the Church of the Visitation between Mary and her cousin Elizabeth. The church is built over the home of Zechariah, Elizabeth and John the Baptist. On our way to Bethlehem, we stopped at the house of Caiaphas where Jesus was held for the trial by the Sanhedrin. The Church of Peters Denial if built over the house. We had lunch in Bethlehem and then visited the Church of the Nativity. Very moving day. After arriving at the hotel a few of us took a walk to the Old City to the Western Wall (the Wailing Wall). With the beginning of the Sabbath this evening there was a lot of activity.
