Shatter the Myths About Drugs and Alcohol
The National Institute on Drugs Abuse (NIDA) has joined forces with the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) to shatter the myths about teen substance use. NIDA and NIAAA are hosting a week-long National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week January 23-29, 2017.
Teens and adults can test their knowledge about drugs in a 12-question multiple-choice quiz on the NIDA website. teens.drugabuse.gov/national-drug-alcohol-facts-week/take-iq-challenge/2017
The National Institute on Drug Abuse has published an educational booklet entitle Drugs: Shatter the Myths that provides the facts related to marijuana, meth, tobacco, alcohol, and prescription drug use. I will leave some of these on the registers in the Church, and a limited number of these booklets are available in the office. Please drop by the office if you want one.
Local authorities from the police department, attorney’s office, DEA, and National Council on Drug and Alcohol Abuse will be sponsoring a local event on the heroin and opioid abuse crisis in St. Charles at Fort Zumwalt East High School, 600 Executive Drive, in St. Peters on January 25 from 7 – 8:30 PM.
