Prayers & Relief for the People of Ukraine
In a letter sent to all parishes this past Tuesday, dated March 15, 2022, Archbishop Rozanski wrote:
“For the past three weeks, we have been aware of the invasion of Russian forces into Ukraine. Day by day, we hear of more Ukrainians being driven from their homes and of the atrocities that are inflicted upon an innocent civilian population. Many of you have inquired about ways to provide assistance. I am grateful for your concern and willingness to extend the hand of friendship and aid to the Ukrainian people. At this time, I would like to share some suggestions for getting aid to the people of Ukraine.”
Among the agencies providing an avenue for assistance is the Ukrainian Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Their website is https://ukrarcheparchy.us/.
To make a donation for humanitarian relief to the people of Ukraine, you can use one of the envelopes located at the end of the pews. Please make your check payable to St. Peter Catholic Church, and note in the Memo Line: Ukraine Relief. You can also give online via our parish website by clicking on the WeShareOnline button using Disaster Relief and put Ukraine in the comments. We will forward all donations for Ukraine Relief to the Ukrainian Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Thank you!
Let us pray for the people of Ukraine, and Russia; for an end to violence and war throughout the world, realizing that we are all under the Gracious Mantel of the Queen of the Universe: Blessed be the Holy and Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.
