Wanted: Faithful Saint Peter Parishioners to be Trained and Serve as Cantors
Have you been blessed with the gift of song? Do you enjoy singing? Can you read music (or would you like to learn)? Would you like to become an integral part of the liturgy and music life of Saint Peter Catholic Church? If you answer “yes” to these questions, the music ministry of Saint Peter Catholic Church would love to work with you.
Cantor candidates will be trained in the following areas:
- Announcing the Processional, Offertory, Communion, and Recessional hymns/songs.
- Leading (as necessary) the Processional, Offertory, Communion, and Recessional hymns/songs, as well as the Responsorial Psalms, Alleluias, and Mass parts.
- Economical and informed movement to bring the congregation in during congregational singing.
- Drawing the attention of the faithful to the sacred actions taking place in the sanctuary.
You must be a team player, able to rehearse, and have a strong familiarity with our Roman Catholic liturgy. Singing in the parish choirs are also plusses. Contact Lee Riekki at lriekki@stpstc.org or 636-946-6641 ext. 203.
