ALL THINGS NEW – Steadfast in Faith * Forward in Hope
Mass Schedule: Beginning the week of July 31, 2023
It was just five years ago when there were a total of six priests in residence at St. Charles Borromeo Church, St. Francis of Assisi Church, and St. Peter Church. They were responsible for providing Masses and the Sacraments for these parishes, Lindenwood University, the local nursing homes, the prison, and helping at St. Joseph Hospital. With the realignment of parish boundaries and personnel, starting on August 1, 2023, there will be three priests, all living at the St. Peter Parish Rectory. The priests assigned to serve our parishes are:
1. Reverend James Theby, the new Pastor.
2. The Reverend Christopher Schroeder, Senior Associate Pastor.
3. The Reverend George Staley, part-time Associate Pastor; as well as part-time Priest-Chaplain for the Newman Center at Lindenwood University.
The NEW MASS SCHEDULE for our Parishes will begin on Monday, July 31, 2023.

To me, the back-and-forth of the Mass locations seems a little like playing ping pong. And maybe it is…especially for our incoming Priests! They will be guys-on-the-go, that’s, men-on-the-move, doing what they do, for a variety of ministries, at different times, at different locations:
• Masses and Confessions for our parishes, school, nursing homes;
• Preparing couples for the Sacrament of Marriage;
• Instructing parents presenting their infant children for Baptism;
• Administering the Sacrament of the Sick for the infirmed, homebound or hospitalized;
• Ministering to families at the time of death of their loved ones, and praying the Funeral Rites;
• Overseeing the evangelization for our children/teens/adults: School, PSR, Youth Ministry, RCIA;
• Attending a variety of meetings for administration, facilities management, finance, liturgy preparation, ministry formation, parish council(s), St. Vincent de Paul Society, Knights of Columbus, Ladies Sodality, and the like…just to name a few.
There remains a variety of events that are so very familiar to parish life yet to be determined. Some of these things are in the works, but not finalized:
• Holy Day of Obligation Mass Schedule – when and where
• The weekly Confession Schedule – when and where
• Eucharistic Adoration / Perpetual Help Devotions – when and where
It’s not that we haven’t been thinking about these kinds of things. The priests and deacons on site are working with our parish staff and transition team members, offering insight and recommendation to the incoming priests. Once they arrive, the new pastoral team will work with their administrative staff and members of their transition team in order to answer these kinds of questions. As one priest put it, “We will have to live-into these questions in order to find the answers.”
Let us remain Steadfast in Faith / Forward in Hope / United in Love.
Sincerely yours in Jesus, Fr. John Seper
