ALL THINGS NEW – Steadfast in Faith - Forward in Hope
Disciple Maker Index Survey –Available from March 2 through April 4, 2022.
My dear friends, being Catholic is a privilege and a challenge. Jesus knew! We pray as Jesus Himself taught us in the Lord’s Prayer, “Thy kingdom come….” And, it was Jesus Who told Pilate, “My kingdom does not belong to this world” (Jn. 18:36). That means that the life of a Catholic often is at odds with the culture/society in which we live. As Missionary Disciples, it is up to us to inform and elevate our culture with the Good News of Jesus, God’s Divine Mercy, and to witness to the abiding Gift of the Holy Spirit working among us, in us, and through us.
We are Disciples of Jesus Christ. We may not be perfect (even the saints were not perfect), but all Christians are called to be holy. By God’s design, we are children of our Heavenly Father; we are brothers and sisters in Jesus; we are members of His Body the Catholic Church. God’s Own Divine Life flows to us and through us, through the Sanctifying Grace given to us through the Sacramental Life of the Church. It is God’s Life in us that makes us holy.
The Disciple Maker Index allows each of us to assess how I am doing both as a Disciple of Jesus, and how I am doing in my own spiritual growth. A survey like the Disciple Maker Index, will give the leadership of our parish valuable insights into discovering ways we can help our parishioners become better Christian disciples. This, in turn, will assist each of us in finding greater joy in being a Disciple of Jesus. And I think that if we are joyful Catholics, then we can help other people to discover God’s love in their lives, and can help lead them into the Sacramental life of the Church.
The Disciple Maker Index survey is now live. You can click the link found on the first page of our parish website. If you prefer, you can pick up a printed version from the gathering space in our Chapel. Take it home, fill it out, bring it back, and put it in the marked box. Thank you for your time and faith-filled investment in the life of the Church.
Sincerely yours in Jesus,
Fr. John Seper
